Default Adding a blog to my static website

I have a static website, but now I am thinking to add a blog to it. I have read about the importance of having a blog and therefore I wanted to know if this blog would be functional in terms of getting more traffic to my website. I am planning to add a blog tab on my static website where a WordPress blog can be linked with a different url. I wanted to know if this step would actually bring traffic to my website, or it will just get traffic to the blog?

That's fine and is always recommended to have a blog attached to your website. (Unique andfresh content blog)
Traffic to your blog is traffic to your website provided you have linked them with each other.

A blog with good content will definitely help you to attract visitors on your website. If you have good content on your blog and visitors land on it by some or the other way, they will definitely visit your website to check the products or services you offer which will increase the traffic on your website.

we feel Word press is a good one to use and as the other members have said, as long as you link your blog to your website then traffic is going to your website. As long as the articles or blogs are interesting then people will want to view them and then possibly look around your site.

Having a blog on the website is extremely important. No matter what your website is about, if you want people to get complete information about it; setting up a blog is the best way to do this. Create posts full of informative content and add appropriate images in it. Promote the blog posts in the social networking websites as this is one of the best ways of increasing the incoming traffic to the website.

In comparison to the static portfolio, a blog is beneficial from search engine point of view because it showcases fresh content once in a while. With an active blog, you gain more indexed pages with a wider keyword range. Moreover by having a blog you can also provide answers for the frequently asked questions, through which people will only have to refer to your blog in case they have common questions.

Its better to add blog on static website. 100% static website seems to be dead. So adding blog is actually better. If blog get related traffic, you can convert on your static page. If blog will not get traffic, you will lose nothing. If visitor from your static website goes to blog then also you will lose nothing.

A number of website's over the web choose to add a blog to a website (an eCommerce site for example) wherein they add enough information about the products/services they sell. But eventually with time, the content seem to get monotonous and the audience starts to loose interest. Therefore, if you are planning to have a blog, make sure that you add interesting content which entices the viewers. Content which may not be a sales pitch always, but something which is drafted with a shear view of helping your readers.

If you want to boast about the products/services you sell, you have the sidebar, footer, header wherein you can have the banners/text links displayed.

That's right, you will get regular visitors only when they find your content interesting. It has to be unique and you will see a lot of traffic coming your way. Make sure the blog is linked to your website.
