Starting a website alone or with partners

I had several debates on this issue with various people. Some web developers prefer to start their new projects (websites) alone, while others prefer having one or several partners. When you weigh up the pros and cons, it's difficult to decide what to do? To have someone to share the workload and the expenses? To risk finding the wrong partners who might betray you and kick you out of the business after the site grows?

You're right about the workload, Andrea. Nevertheless, I'd rather do it all myself. You never know how something will turn out when others get involved as you pointed out.

Similar to Zander, I also prefer to build and manage a website myself. Then again, I have never started such a big project that I couldn't handle it myself.
