    Default PCI hosting

    I'm looking to move to you but need PCI compliant server. We take payments via Pay Pal Pro which does not store any card data, it just transmits the data to them but because the card details are entere don our site we must have PCI compliance. We use McAfee & Security Metrics for the scans. Our current provider did do this but every quarter is a pain as the PCI rules constantly change & the server requires things like PHP updates. Do you offer a PCI compliant server? What cost per month is it? How do you handle any updates that are required to remain compliant? Thanks

    Our shared servers are not optimised for PCI compliance so you will need to consider our VPS Hosting or Dedicated Servers for PCI compliance, and our system administrators will be happy to assist you in configuring your server for full PCI compliance.

    How do you handle any updates that are required to remain compliant?(as these seem to crop up EVERY quarter!) Will there be constant additional charges or do you fully manage the server?

    Our servers are fully managed and there are no additional charges, so you can contact us at any time you require anything configured, changed or installed on your server - whether for PCI compliance, security software installation and updates, server-side software, and so forth.

    Yes we can migrate your site over for you. We don't charge for site migrations to our Virtual Private Servers or Dedicated Servers and up to around 20 accounts/domains with customers that choose a shared or reseller web hosting package before our support team would have to consider either requesting the customer to pay a fee for such a migration or refusing. Simply submit a ticket after your VPS or Dedicated Server is set up with the account details of your previous hosting provider and we'll migrate it over for you for free.

    OK, realiability is a priority for us, I was all ready to move but read some reviews that don't bode too well! Do you have any up time stats available?

    Hello,

    I asked one of our senior technicians to provide some update statistics for some of our nodes. I'll add that we believe in transparency so you'll find both good and bad reviews - for example, in our testimonials forum. It's better to show the truth than just permit positive testimonials - it's wrong to hide when there are times where we have made mistakes as a web hosting provider.

    I spoke with one of our senior technicians and here's an example of uptime of some of our Virtuozzo nodes. I requested him to provide uptime information for many of our nodes to give you a representative illustration - here's the uptime record of 6 nodes actively in use (checked at 11am today).

    Thanks again, I guess what would be more useful is downtime if you can provide those? Issues happen, we all know that but what is important is if a service fails (due to DDOS for example) how long a site is unavailable for. Thanks in advance.

    It's not easy to tell you how long a site is unavailable for as the result of a DDoS attack because each case may be different, but here are a few examples where DDoS attacks have occurred:
