Hi,
Drupal 7 on its own will most defintiely run adequately on shared hosting. It really comes into factor if you have a lot of traffic, at which point you may wish to immediately consider VPS hosting. However, for sites that do not get a lot of daily traffic, running Drupal 7 on shared hosting should be fine. And if your requirements change in the future where you will need to upgrade to a VPS server, we'll be happy to help with that migration.
If your website receives a lot of daily traffic and you are concerned about the speediness of your site, or whether it would work well on shared hosting or not, you may want to consider buying VPS hosting instead of shared hosting immediately, as it will prevent a needed upgrade path later on if your requirements are higher than what can adequately be met on shared hosting for the foreseeable future.
You can contact our sales team with more in-depth information regarding the current traffic and usage information regarding your site and we'll be happy to curate our recommendation based on your specific requirements. In this case, we can then provide you with a specific recommendation, such as a specific VPS package or shared hosting package, depending on your current requirements.
If you have any other questions, you're more than welcome to ask. Our Shared Hosting and VPS Hosting packages and information can be found at the links below:
