Social networking sites are avenues where you can promote your online business. It is like a golf club in the offline world where you can mingle with decision makers and potential clients.

If you want to beat the score try advertising on DATING sites

Or just create a free dating sites since they are just few , I mean those with free sign-up and free services then wait for a couple of weeks to see thousands of free members then start advertising on the site or even sell shared spaces on your site.

Also use "Socializer" this is the tool that allows you to easily submit a link to several social bookmarking systems; ekstreme.com/socializer/, if you have wordpress blog you can also add the socializer plugin by which you and your users can be able to submit your post to all of the social bookmark networks at once. Check it out; marketing.digital-landscaping.ca/wordpress-tools/wordpress-socializer-plugin

You should be taking a close look at what kind of traffic these marketing positions are bringing. Who cares if you have a MySpace page if no one but you goes to it - the same applies for blogger and the web site. You have to be driving traffic there.

    Thumbs up

Definitely, you should use some of the social bookmarking and networking sites available on the internet to market your website and get good amount of traffic on it. Some of the social networking and bookmarking sites also provide do follow backlinks if you bookmark your website links in them which is an added advantage

Inspite of this, you should make sure that you communicate with others users on this website as if you do not communicate with other users, you won't be able to fetch a good amount of traffic from these sites

Social Media is effective in being utilized as a marketing strategy. However, remember that it is a social network for socializing and not primarily intended for marketing so the strategies for promoting products/links/services should be done with this in mind.

A social networking website is the place where you will get maximum crowd. Your target audience is also there. Therefore it is crucial for any company to market on the social networking sites in order to create and maintain a good online presence. People will start recognizing your brand in a better way through online marketing. You can create informative pages on social networking websites about your products or services offered and then these pages can be updated regularly with blog links, videos or presentations. This is the best way of marketing on social networking sites.

I agree with Angela about going with Facebook and Twitter. They seem to reach the most people. I suppose the exception would be if your target market was specific to something served by another social media site. Google+ is a new one and I won't be surprised if they end up even bigger than Facebook someday.

Take advantage of the social media sites with which you feel most comfortable. Where do you have your largest networks and followings currently? That would be the place to start.

It might work best to focus on a couple of social media sites at a time. Everyone says that regular updates/tweets are the only way to build a following. It's easy to spread yourself too thin on social media.
