Default Two Moons on 27th August

On 27th Aug, Planet Mars will look as large as the full moon, Mars will come within 34.65M miles of earth. Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am . It will look like the earth has 2 moons. Otherwise you have to wait till 2287 the next time Mars may come this close.

Although Mars does occasionally get that close but the moon is only about 238000 miles away so mars would have to be 140x larger than the moon to look the same size.

The moons diameter is 3476km, Mars is 6792km so Mars would only look roughly the same size as the moon if it was approximately 476000 miles away.

    Or something like that.

Yep, if mars will come so closure, we will be not alive to see that as it will bring tide and disintegrate everything.
